About The Garth

The Garth is situated at the north end of the pretty village of West Burton, opposite Burton Bridge which leads on to an old track named Morpeth Gate. This was once a busy route between West Burton and the important market town of Middleham.

Packhorse Bridge Lo ResWest Burton is considered one of the most beautiful villages in the Yorkshire Dales National Park. Close by are Cauldron Falls, a spectacular waterfall painted by J.M.W. Turner on his north of England tour. The picturesque village green is surrounded by attractive houses with village store, pub and butcher’s.

Centrally located between Leyburn and Hawes with Aysgarth Falls close by, The Garth is in an ideal position to explore the Yorkshire Dales National Park. For cycle fans the Tour de France came past our front gate. Cycling on or off road offers lots of scenic routes to follow. Walkers are spoilt for choice with Bishopdale’s lovely flat bottom and challenging sloping sides offers something for everyone.

Garden birds are numerous and we have all the usual along with Nuthatches and Greater Spotted Woodpecker. Dippers can also be spotted on Walden Beck and Treecreeper’s and Tawny Owls in the trees.

There is a private car park, cycle store, boot room and drying facilities.

We are an adult only self- catering accommodation. No pets. No smoking.
